βCaMKII overexpression in the dentate gyrus does not result in depression- and anxiety-like behaviors in mice

چکیده
Beta-Ca2+/calmodulin-dependent protein kinase II (βCaMKII) is known as a powerful regulator of lateral habenula neuron function and key molecular determinant depression. βCaMKII also abundant in the hippocampus, especially dentate gyrus (DG). However, whether DG involved emotional behaviors remains unknown. In this study, using βCaMKII-F90G transgenic mice, which overexpression restricted to DG, we demonstrated that has no effect on level anxiety mice open field test or light–dark box test. Moreover, tail suspension forced swim showed depression their littermates was comparable. Taken together, our findings indicate does not result depression- anxiety-like provide evidence brain region specific.

Rapid deletion of mossy cells does not result in a hyperexcitable dentate gyrus: implications for epileptogenesis.
Loss of cells from the hilus of the dentate gyrus is a major histological hallmark of human temporal lobe epilepsy. Hilar mossy cells, in particular, are thought to show dramatic numerical reductions in pathological conditions, and one prominent theory of epileptogenesis is based on the assumption that mossy cell loss directly results in granule cell hyperexcitability. However, whether it is th...

15 صفحه اولOverexpression of mineralocorticoid receptors does not affect memory and anxiety-like behavior in female mice
Mineralocorticoid receptors (MRs) have been implicated in behavioral adaptation and learning and memory. Since-at least in humans-MR function seems to be sex-dependent, we examined the behavioral relevance of MR in female mice exhibiting transgenic MR overexpression in the forebrain. Transgenic MR overexpression did not affect contextual fear memory or cued fear learning and memory. Moreover, M...

15 صفحه اولLow-power density of 950 MHz radiation does not affect long-term potentiation in rat dentate gyrus
Introduction: Over the last decade, exposure to non-ionizing electromagnetic waves due to base station antenna has increased. This in vivo study was planned for evaluating the effects of whole-body exposure to 950 MHz field of GSM mobile phone system on rat dentate gyrus long-term potentiation. Materials and Methods: 24 naive male Wistar rats (3 month old, 225|¡|25 g) were randomly divided in t...
